The corner of the bank.  I entered this into the 'survivors' contest (for those who finished the challenge).

Day Thirty

Another drain cover.  Ah, 30 days complete.  These challenges always make you realize just how quickly a month passes by!  Thanks for looking, thanks for the comments.  I'll post the contest shot here too in a few days when that is done with voting.

Day Twenty-Nine

Nothing more 'under foot' than shoes!  It's quite a different look and feel compared to the rest of this week's shots that seem more natural and earthy.  Looks out of place on the poster this week, but I needed color!  One more day (plus the contest photo)!

Day Twenty-Eight

Old, damp, wooden steps, with rusty nails.

I must say, I really need to find something with color, I'm craving COLOR on these drabby cloudy rainy days!

Day Twenty-Seven

I had my computer off and was walking to bed when I saw my camera and remembered I didn't do a photo for today.  I was very tempted to say 'forget it' and go to bed, but it's TOO close to the end to not finish.  It was a very busy day, with too much on my mind.  So much that I need to do in the next day or two and all I can think about is how and when it's going to all get done.  It's all 'good' scheduling problems to have though... except the whole house smelling like rotten critter :/ That makes it hard to think of anything but that also.  (there is a nasty rotten stench coming from the heat vents, it's like something died in there and it needs taken care of, but couldn't be over the weekend.  So I've been living with wanting to vomit constantly from the smell that is increasing by the minute).  ...Anyway, so here is the floor right next to my computer, I'm going to bed.

Day Twenty-Six

This is the storm drain cover in the street at the end of my driveway.  Yesterday I wasn't sure what was going to be the mini mini 'theme' for this last week.  So far the only thing the 'under foots' have in common is concrete.  This one has little bits of concrete stuck to it.

Day Twenty-Five

Ugly, chilly, rainy day today.  I think this last 6 day grouping is going to be 'lines under foot'

Day Twenty-Four

Coffee Filters.  No coffee is gets drank in this house, but I still have filters for some reason.

Day Twenty-Three

I tried many different things with books today, but nothing was really looking decent to me.  I settled on this one since it wasn't as horribly boring as the others.

Day Twenty

One of these days I'm going to completely forget and wake up in the morning thinking "oh crap, I failed"!  Busy holiday day with company, as I'm sure many can relate to today.  As the evening wore on I decided to just take a shot as a safety net incase I didn't get around to doing something good.  So I used the hairbrush.  Took a couple shots and put the camera down and went back to doing dishes and putting leftovers away and getting the kids bathed and ready for bed.  I was at the computer, sleepy and ready for bed, and about to click off the power when I remembered I didn't do anything with the picture I took!  So this is what you get for today.  The bokeh and starburst things are neat, but that's about all it has going for it!  The focus isn't quite good on as it seems only one tip is actually in focus.

Day Nineteen

Another new row on the poster where I have no idea what to do!  I forgot about shooting today until just a few minutes ago, so I figured I better do it right now before I forget again.  So I guess these six days will be 'around the house' in general and with whites tying them together.

Day Seventeen

At first I didn't like this shot, I thought it was boring.  But now I actually really like it.  I think it'd be awesome hung up on the wall in the kitchen.

Day Thirteen

Next up, lines in the kitchen.  The color theme will be silver/gray/stainless steel.

Day Twelve

The last of the lines in nature.  What's next, I don't know yet!  Up close this looks hard and wiry, but really it's one of those tiny things that is all fluffy and soft, looks like a caterpillar.  (I don't know what to call it!)  Once I got to the computer I noticed the noise in the shot.  Then I remembered I forgot to knock down the ISO from the last I used the camera.  I went to go reshoot, but the darn thing blew away or something because I couldn't find it!  Oh well.

Day Ten

I spent most of today going through and saving zoo pictures.  I forgot about the challenge, until I saw morp's post on g+.  Then I was 'OH CRAP!'  It's getting dark out and starting to rain.  So I run outside to find something quick. (Atleast I remembered to charge the camera battery earlier since it was completely dead!) The back yard is lined with pine trees.  The ground between them is covered in pine needles and pine cones.  Perfect, lines on lines! And look, green grass is starting to show!

Day Nine

The girls have spring break this week.  Today I went to the zoo with them and my mom.  It was another beautiful day despite a sore/swollen throat.   Since I was there all day I had to use a shot from there for today.  So here's a croc (or was it the gator, oh I don't remember which one this was from, and I can usually tell from the head, but since this is close I'm not sure. I think from the teeth that it's crocodile, but I only remember little crocs and this was a big one, so then I think it was the gator).  Anyway, the jaws of a creature that is very powerful.  Plenty of lines all around.

Day Eight

Sunbursts and dividing lines.  A dead sunflower.  I was given this sunflower last year for mother's day from my oldest, she grew it from a seed.  Unfortunately a nasty summer storm snapped the stem before it grew to its full potential.  It's been laying in the grass behind the house since then.  The dividing lines aren't straight like all my other shots, but the black sunburst lines on the seeds are straight :)  And hey, not all lines in life are straight.  How boring would life be if it were all straight and perfect.

Day Seven

Next up, lines in Nature.  With mini theme for this section of the color brown.  Since everything out there is still dead!  I had another shot of the leaf using the macro lens, and I never noticed how much a dead leaf looks like leather when you get up really really close.  Or cracked, hard packed, dry desert.

Day Six

If I had any other choice, I wouldn't be posting this!  I just don't like it.  It doesn't make sense, it doesn't look good.  But, we all have those days where it just doesn't go as planned and you have to settle and get over it.  Brick building that had a blue and white striped awning.
It was a beautiful day today.  We got to 54*F (12*C) today!  This morning I did some yard work, cleaning up the mess left from the insane winter.  After lunch I took the girls to the playground.  I took my camera and left it in the car with intentions of getting a shot of the structure there before leaving.  But, around here parks don't open any buildings like bathrooms or open the drinking fountains until Memorial Day (which is May 26th this year).  Memorial Day, end of May is when people open up their pools and get them ready for summer, and when parks decide it's nice enough outside to maintain open facilities.  Of course one of the girls 'had to go potty RIGHT NOW' so we left in a hurry.  Also had an unexpected guest this afternoon which took up the day.  So this is the shot you (well more like *I*) have to settle for.
A row of 6 was my intentions for types of line shots.  So this should be it of lines on buildings.  I'll move on to 6 of lines in/on/around something else starting tomorrow.

Day Five

I admit, when I decided to do a row of lines of buildings, I was worried about finding anything.  Anytime I think about buildings worth shooting, I think I need to go deeper into the city (I live on the outskirts, it's city but not citycity if you know what I mean).  I hate cities so very much so I never actually go to shoot anything.  But, down the road from me there are plenty of businesses, but really nothing huge.  And I've honestly never really paid much attention to them or really looked at them from a photography perspective.  But this has made me actually look at them while driving by.  I was going grocery shopping and had my camera with me just in case.  I saw this building that I see all the time and noticed all the lines and the windows blue, reflecting the clear blue skies from today.  I decided I'll stop on the way home (it's on the other side of a very busy main road with 6 lanes of traffic that requires michigan lefts to get to).  Since it's the weekend, nobody was there working today so I didn't have to worry about people thinking I'm nuts or being suspicious as to what I was doing.  There really is a lot of neat things all around us if we just open our eyes to see them in a new way.

Day Four

Rainy day today.  And I'm very thankful that it isn't snow!  Apparently 'blue' is recurring in my lines!  It's not intentional.  But I feel like if there is no blue it's going to throw it all off haha!  We'll see where it leads and if I add in a limited color theme along with where the lines are coming from.

Day Two

Looking up to the sky.  The edge of the roof.  I think perhaps I'll do so many days of lines on buildings then move on to lines in/on something else :)  Then it'll make a nice cohesive poster at the end.
